Our New Community Support Program: Chillax Care

The Chillax Care Program is a community supported, pay-it-forward program created to help local families who cannot afford critical HVAC repairs. The program is built on community support, neighbor-to-neighbor care, and making sure no one is left without safe heating or cooling.

This is a brand-new program, and we are looking for early supporters to help get it off the ground and make a real difference for local households.

How the Program Works

Neighbors Apply for Program Support

Households facing financial hardship can complete a short online application to request assistance with essential HVAC repairs. Chillax completes an on-site diagnostic and verifies proof of need. If the repair qualifies and funds are available, the project may be approved for support.

Community Donations Cover Parts & Materials

Community members can contribute any amount to the Care Fund. Every dollar goes directly toward the parts and materials needed for qualifying repairs. Donations are not tax deductible, as Chillax is not a recognized charitable entity. These contributions help keep neighbors safe and comfortable in their homes.

Chillax Donates the Labor for Approved Projects

For every approved project, the Chillax Team provides all labor at no charge. Program recipients only pay a small $80 trip charge to help cover gas, business insurance, and basic operating costs. The combination of community support and donated labor makes essential repairs far more accessible for families in need.

The Reason Behind Chillax Care

HVAC system failures can become serious safety hazards, especially during extreme weather. In the winter, a broken furnace can leave a home dangerously cold, increasing the risk of hypothermia, frostbite, or other health complications (especially for young children, the elderly, or anyone with health conditions). In the summer, a failed air conditioner can cause heat exhaustion, dehydration, or exacerbate existing medical issues.

Beyond comfort, reliable heating and cooling are essential for maintaining safe indoor air quality, preventing frozen pipes, and avoiding damage to critical appliances and home systems. Unfortunately, unexpected repairs can be expensive, and many families fall between the cracks of traditional assistance programs.

Inspired by Halli’s prior experience in the nonprofit sector, we wanted to create a community-focused solution that ensures families don’t have to go without essential services when they need them most.

Who Qualifies

The program is intended for households facing temporary financial hardship or other challenges that make it difficult to afford an urgent repair.

Applicants may qualify if they:

Receive income-based assistance (SNAP, SSI, Medicaid, WIC, etc.)
Are experiencing a temporary financial setback
Include vulnerable household members, such as young children, the elderly, or anyone with health concerns

Every application is reviewed with care, and our goal is to provide support to those who need it most while maintaining transparency and fairness.

Support is provided based on fund availability, so we rely on the generosity of our community to help keep the program running. Consider making a donation to help a neighbor stay safe and comfortable in their home.

Privacy & Application Information

When you apply for assistance through the Chillax Care Program, we collect only the minimal information needed to determine eligibility. This may include basic contact details and simple, multiple-choice responses about your situation.

No storage of sensitive documents: We will review proof-of-need documentation in-person, solely for eligibility purposes. We will not store copies of these materials.
Limited use of application information: Information provided in your application is used only to evaluate eligibility for the program and to communicate with you regarding your request.
Customer stories & testimonials: We love sharing the positive impact of the program, but we will only share customer stories, photos, or testimonials if you give us explicit permission to do so.
